It is God's design that his people live from the reality of his grace and truth in their lives.  Our ability to experience the freedom and promise of a life overflowing with mature love and strength is determined by how we bring our reality, that is, who we really are, into Gods presence.  The alternative is creating a life built on false ways of living and relating to others.  In the context of marriage it is all the more important that we lay aside that which is false, what the Bible calls the old self.   To fail to do so brings destructive patterns of relating and ultimate harm to the marriage bond.

 As Christians, the covenant between a wife and a husband is intended by God to be a reflection of his own relationship with us, the Body of Christ.  This relationship is rooted in Jesus Christ himself who comes to us in grace and truth.  It is God's design that a wife and husband live together in this same way, in grace and truth.  The problem is that many of us fail to identify how we live falsely with those we love.  We have created our own design.  One that is destructive to genuine intimacy and a hindrance to mature love.

The way to God's design is found at the foot of the cross of Jesus.  There, we can come to experience the redemptive work of God that will bring us to maturity.  It is at the cross that we lay down the hindrances to our growth and intimacy with our spouses and others.  At the cross we discover Christ as our sufficiency and the freedom to love from a secure heart.

You are invited to join us for this one-day retreat which will focus on helping you to identify where you might not be living from your true identities as a man and woman of God, as husband and wife.   This is an experiential retreat as we will be creating opportunities for reflection, communication and discovery of God'ss heart toward you, his son and daughter, and your hearts toward one another.
